There are some things everyone remembers about senior school....TB jabs, PE in the rain, Youth Club discos ...but perhaps not the moment when you received your very own New Testament Bible?
Personally I was quite chuffed! And why not? There you are, 12 years old, being given a free, pocket-sized, faux-leather bound book with gold leaf writing and silky-smooth paper! You feel almost special, which is weird because unless you're actually Christian or of religious up-bringing you have no immediate intention of reading it or keeping it about your person.
Anyway, I found this being given away and thought it would be interesting. The lady who gave it away said that she was at school 20 years ago, which was when I was at school too, so for one reason or another I have decided to make something of this. But, er...God knows what!
